🧰 Freedom Shop Equipment Buyer’s Guide
Welcome to Freedom Shop Equipment
We’re proud to help mechanics, collectors, and shop owners across America gear up with dependable, professional-grade equipment. Before your order arrives, let’s make sure you’re ready for delivery day, installation, and setup.
🚛 Shipping & Delivery: What You Need to Know
1. Commercial Delivery
Most of our lifts, compressors, and heavy-duty shop equipment ship via freight truck.
To receive your order smoothly:
-
You must have a forklift or similar equipment to unload the shipment.
The carrier’s truck will not have a liftgate unless specified and paid for at checkout. -
If you don’t have unloading equipment, we recommend shipping to a commercial address with a dock or arranging local pickup from the carrier’s terminal.
2. Residential Delivery
If you’re receiving a lift at a home address:
-
Expect an additional residential delivery fee.
-
You’ll still need a way to unload the product safely — a forklift, skid steer, or an automotive lift capable of handling the weight.
-
Drivers aren’t required to help unload, so plan ahead.
3. Inspect Before Signing
When your order arrives:
-
Inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt.
If there’s visible damage, note it on the paperwork and take photos immediately. -
Report damages to Freedom Shop Equipment within 24 hours of delivery so we can file a claim and make it right.
🧩 Installation: Self-Setup vs. Professional
Option 1: Professional Installation
We strongly recommend professional installation for automotive lifts.
A certified installer ensures:
-
Correct anchor bolt torque and spacing
-
Proper leveling and cable tensioning
-
Compliance with manufacturer and safety standards
We can try to connect you with an authorized installer in your area — just ask our team before or after checkout.
Option 2: Self-Installation
If you’re going the DIY route, read this part twice:
You’ll need:
-
A concrete slab at least 4" thick (3,000 PSI minimum)
-
A hammer drill, torque wrench, and proper anchors
-
At least 2 people for assembly and upright positioning
Tips for a safe install:
-
Lay out the lift arms and columns before drilling anchor holes.
-
Use a plumb line or laser level to ensure vertical alignment.
-
Always tighten anchors to manufacturer specs — not by “feel.”
-
Keep hydraulic hoses and cables clear of moving parts.
⚙️ After Installation
Initial Operation
-
Test the lift or equipment without a vehicle first.
-
Check for hydraulic leaks, air pressure issues, or loose connections.
-
Review the owner’s manual for maintenance schedules.
Routine Maintenance
-
Keep bolts torqued and cables adjusted monthly.
-
Drain compressor tanks regularly.
-
Clean up oil and fluid spills to prevent corrosion and hazards.
